Empowering women in energy to achieve their ambitions 

1.  MENTORING PROGRAM

Empowering women and closing the gender leadership gap are imperative for companies that want to perform at the highest level.  Our mentoring circles help women connect with peers and organizations that focus on counteracting gender bias.  As a result, Lean In partners report more women are taking the lead.

Lean In Circles are small peer groups that meet regularly to learn and grow together– in person or virtually.  In the entire Lean In Circle community, currently there are over 353,000 circles in more than 1650 countries, and 85% credit their Circle with a positive change in their life.  Lean In Circle members mentoring programs are research based and women report that they are more confident, ambitious, more likely to ask for (and receive) promotions, and are more aware of the role that gender plays at work.

2.  PUBLIC AWARENESS

To change the trajectory of women, we need to all- both women and men - change the way we think about gender.  LeanIn.Org's annual Women in the Workplace study conducted in partnership with McKinsey & Company promotes female leadership and gender diversity in the workplace.  In 2017, 222 companies employing more than 12 million people participated, making it the most comprehensive annual review of its kind.

Lean In Energy also takes part in an annual public awareness campaign focused on a topic that is critical to advancing women—like the importance of encouraging girls to lead, the crucial role men play in getting to equality, the crucial role men play in getting to equality, and the amazing things women accomplish when they support each other. These campaigns reach millions of people on social media and are accompanied by practical tips and resources for our community. 


3. EDUCATION

Lean In Energy brings LeanIn.Org's growing library of free expert videos, discussion guides, and tips for their male allies to our industry.  These materials are focused on helping women build new skills and providing everyone with research-based recommendations for advancing gender equality at home and at work.  

We also encourage our community to contribute thought capital to LeanIn.org and align and we hold special events with corporate partners.

Lean In Energy connects our industry to the bigger purpose.
